Oriental Bank is hiring an Associate, Retail Channels (Bilingual Teller) to deliver extraordinary, friendly, and dynamic service through virtual and video face-to-face customer interactions. This role is based on-site at our location in Bayamón, PR.
What You'll Do
- Serve customers in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner by promptly handling all teller functions.
- Perform regular teller transactions through electronic and remote interactions in full compliance with bank policies and procedures.
- Answer questions from prospects and customers, maintaining excellent relations and directing them to proper employees for more complex issues.
- Work independently using effective problem-solving skills and apply knowledge of operating and security procedures to make on-the-spot decisions.
- Multitask by working with multiple software programs concurrently to complete transactions and communicate with more than one customer at a time.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities, sell new or additional products that meet customer needs, and make appropriate referrals to other bank areas.
- Perform end-of-day balancing according to established procedures.
- Adhere to all security, audit, and compliance requirements.
- Act as a mentor or trainer to new Virtual Tellers.
- Communicate customer comments, issues, and requests to the appropriate branch or department.
- Clearly explain the proper use of the Virtual Teller Station, handling customer objections and anxiety about new technology.
- Promote the benefits of the technology to ensure a positive customer experience.
What We're Looking For
- An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- One (1) year of customer service, call center, or sales experience.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, problem-solving, and documentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong telephone etiquette, listening, and communication skills.
- A detail-oriented approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with computers.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish.
- Availability to work any day of the week based on operational hours, plus flexibility for overtime as business needs require.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Nice to Have
- An understanding of banking or financial products and services.
- Knowledge of MS Office and other business applications.
