BusRight is looking for an Associate Product Designer to join the Toast Retail team. In this role, you’ll focus on exceptional execution and UI design to shape the inventory and item management experience for a wide range of customers, including restaurants, convenience stores, grocery stores, and gas stations.
What You'll Do
- Assist senior designers on sophisticated, inventory-centric capabilities.
- Refine the Toast UX so non-restaurant customers feel at home.
- Work on AI-supported workflows across product features.
- Design native mobile inventory solutions.
- Create onboarding flows that accelerate time-to-value for customers.
- Design a retail and fuel mode on Toast POS devices.
What We're Looking For
- 1-2 years of experience delivering designs grounded in a design system.
- Ability to process feedback with ease and push for cleaner, easier-to-use UIs.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance the product design process and discern valuable integration from hype.
- Solid understanding of UX principles and best practices for web and native mobile applications.
- Strong grasp of platform-specific UX and UI patterns.
- Good communication skills and a proactive mindset for sharing work early and often.
- Proficient in design software (preferably Figma), including maintaining clean files and delivering pixel-perfect final UI designs.
- Able to take feedback constructively and pivot quickly when necessary.
- Strong user empathy to design digital experiences that delight within stressful or monotonous workflows.
- Familiarity with corporate design systems and the judgment to push beyond them when innovation requires.
- Willingness to directly engage with customers to gather feedback and generate ideas.
Nice to Have
- Design system experience including creation and maintenance.
- Expertise in fast prototyping using tools such as Figma Make, Magic Patterns, v0.
- Prior experience in a startup environment or on 'zero-to-one' projects.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary: $91,000—$146,000 USD
