Allegheny Health Network is hiring an Associate Lab / Teamsters JH to support our laboratory operations. In this role, you will ensure the accurate receipt, preparation, and processing of specimens while maintaining efficient workflow and high-quality standards.
What You'll Do
- Register patients and perform accurate test order entry into the laboratory information system.
- Verify specimen identification and prepare and process specimens according to established protocols.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the work area and ensure adequate supplies for efficient operations.
- Stock supplies as needed.
- Provide support by answering telephones, faxing reports, and managing send-outs.
- Mentor Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) students in specimen processing using AHN policies.
- Order, perform, and result waived testing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Nice to Have
- Graduation from a medical assistant program or a phlebotomy program, with a corresponding certificate.
