At Black & Veatch, we are seeking an Associate Engineer to grow into a technical specialist role. Under general supervision, you’ll build on your foundational experience to take on larger, more complex assignments within our employee-owned company, with opportunities to expand your knowledge across multiple disciplines.
What You'll Do
- Continuously learn and apply departmental design guides, standards, and applicable engineering codes.
- Prepare a variety of increasingly complex engineering deliverables and perform research for equipment and materials selection.
- Collect, assimilate, and manage project data, performing engineering calculations following standard methods.
- Understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements, recognizing and resolving problems as they arise.
- Assign tasks to and mentor entry-level professionals and interns, coordinating with project leadership.
- Interact with other disciplines on design details and communicate regularly with external clients and internal project teams.
- Support business development activities and share knowledge of the latest technology and processes.
- Assist with performance management, recognition, and mentoring as your skills develop.
What We're Looking For
- A bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
- Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include background checks, a drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
