About the Role

AECOM is seeking an Associate Director – Structures Design (Buildings) to provide strategic leadership and technical expertise for structural engineering projects across the Middle East region. This senior role is critical for overseeing engineering production, ensuring technical excellence, and managing relationships with key stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Support, oversee, and coordinate engineering production activities for the operating unit.
  • Make decisions and recommendations recognized by authorities and clients.
  • Initiate and maintain contact with senior-level management; skilled in dispute resolution and negotiation.
  • Demonstrate understanding of project delivery requirements and lead multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
  • Anticipate and solve routine and unusual operational problems; define objectives for diverse engineering activities.
  • Organize programs and projects, develop standards and guides, and ensure high-quality technical excellence.
  • Operate with broad general objectives and administrative supervision.
  • Train and develop junior engineers through technical training programs.

What We're Looking For

  • Master’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng), Professional Engineer (PE), or equivalent global certification (e.g., Institution of Civil Engineers, UK).
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in structural engineering, including leadership roles.
  • Proven experience delivering major projects in the Middle East region.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to see the “big picture” and provide strategic oversight.
  • Demonstrated accountability, precision, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Nice to Have

  • Confident decision-maker with excellent negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
  • Skilled in managing complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with advanced structural analysis tools and BIM workflows.

Work Mode

This is a hybrid position based in Bangalore or Gurugram.
