Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, is hiring an Associate Director, External Manufacturing. In this role, you will be the primary contact for supplier relationships, responsible for providing the organization, supervision, strategic initiatives, and technical support necessary to manage product supply. You will manage projects and programs to ensure a cost-effective, marketable, and manufacturable product while maximizing profitability throughout its life cycle.
What You'll Do
- Participate in the negotiation of Manufacturing Service Agreements and amendments, ensuring compliance with terms.
- Ensure effective planning and material procurement strategies are in place to supply the Third-Party Manufacturer (TPM).
- Communicate product forecasts to the TPM, agree on manufacturing schedules, and coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure delivery meets demand.
- Actively participate in the development of Financial Operating Plans, Updates, LRPs, and Standard processes to meet financial goals.
- Coordinate the Steering Committee and monitor Virtual Operation Team meetings to evaluate performance and address issues.
- Review status reports and prepare updates for Senior leadership.
- Collaborate with technical and quality teams to review process performance, quality trends, and agree on improvement plans.
- Establish governance, guidelines, and communication channels, and coordinate with quality units to ensure supplier systems meet regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with QA on annual quality management reviews and periodic audits of the TPM, ensuring timely investigation of deviations and product disposition.
- Develop, implement, and manage programs or projects, including scope, cost, time, resource, communication, and risk management.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a science or technical field.
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience in areas such as manufacturing, engineering, project management, quality, and S&T.
- External Manufacturing experience and aseptic experience in external manufacturing are required.
- A broad business perspective and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Strong project experience and an ability to influence others.
- Proven leadership ability with superior communication skills, including listening, verbal, presentation, and written.
- Strong strategy development and planning skills with knowledge of pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, and supply.
- Strong issue identification, problem analysis, and solution development skills.
- A demonstrated team player able to work in a globally oriented environment.
- Strong knowledge of business financial systems and tools.
Nice to Have
- An MSc or MBA degree.
- Previous experience managing subcontracted relationships.
