About the Role

This role involves overseeing ecological assessments, guiding project delivery, and contributing to strategic growth initiatives while ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and execution of ecological surveys and impact assessments
  • Manage technical teams on complex environmental projects
  • Ensure compliance with national and international environmental regulations
  • Review ecological reports for scientific accuracy and quality
  • Support the development of mitigation and enhancement strategies
  • Provide expert input during environmental planning processes
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists across disciplines
  • Mentor junior staff and support professional development
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Contribute to proposals and win new business opportunities
  • Oversee project budgets and timelines
  • Advocate for sustainable project solutions
  • Represent the company at industry events and client meetings
  • Stay current with evolving ecological legislation and standards
  • Guide habitat restoration and biodiversity offset projects
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies during permitting
  • Support environmental due diligence for infrastructure projects
  • Lead fieldwork planning and health and safety protocols
  • Integrate ecological considerations into design processes
  • Promote innovation in ecological monitoring and data analysis

Nice to Have

  • Doctorate in ecology or environmental science
  • Experience working on international projects
  • Knowledge of climate resilience and adaptation strategies
  • Experience in carbon assessment or natural capital accounting
