We are looking for an Associate Director - Bid Manager to join our Water business, focusing on the most strategic and complex major bids. You will guide senior leaders and teams to deliver winning proposals that drive our growth strategy.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and manage large, complex proposals involving multiple departments, regions, and partners, supporting from capture through interview and lessons learned.
- Lead the creation and execution of win strategies, collaborating with capture managers, client account managers, technical teams, and leadership.
- Oversee positioning and capture activities, including facilitating win strategy workshops with key internal stakeholders.
- Follow best practices using AECOM processes and templates to create compliant and compelling bids.
- Drive all bid stages, including kick-off, answer planning, reviews, document production, and interviews, acting as a subject matter expert.
- Analyze internal debriefs and client feedback to ensure continuous improvement and identify trends and best practices.
- Lead discrete projects to embed best practice in bidding across Water, such as delivering training.
- Assist with active pipeline management and resource planning for the Water Work Winning team.
- Provide line management for Water Work Winning team members, coaching and supporting their professional development.
What We're Looking For
- Experience operating at a senior leadership level, able to positively challenge and influence stakeholders.
- Proven experience working in a bids and proposals environment.
- Demonstrated success in winning high-value, complex major pursuits (above £20 million) in the construction/engineering industry.
- Experience creating win strategies and themes to craft compelling and compliant bid responses.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, both virtual and in-person.
- A passion for line managing and developing people.
Nice to Have
- APMP Practitioner/Professional level certification.
