1st Central is looking for an Associate Data Engineer to build innovative data solutions and contribute to impactful, long-term data products. In this role, you'll transform well-defined work packages into powerful, robust data pipelines and database solutions that drive real business value.

What You'll Do

Develop secure, governed, and efficient data pipelines of low to mid complexity from various on-premise, off-premise, internal, and external data sources.
Cleanse, map, transform, and optimize data for storage to meet requirements for business and technical use cases.
Build data observability and data quality by design into all pipelines, creating self-testing systems that proactively identify issues.
Pipe and transform data into data lake storage areas, physical database models, and reporting structures across the data ecosystem.
Build physical data models designed to meet business needs and optimize storage for maximum re-use.
Carry out unit testing of your own code to ensure appropriate quality.
Maintain effective documentation that brings transparency and understandability to the pipelines and code you create.
Follow coding standards, architectural principles, and release management processes to ensure safe, high-quality, compliant code.
Create low to mid complexity BI solutions including data marts, semantic layers, and reporting in tools like Power BI.

What We're Looking For

Hands-on experience in Python, VBA, SQL, or a similar coding language.
Proven to be a good communicator with experience building rapport with others.
A keen and active interest in the use of data and knowledge of how data drives business value.
Broad understanding of the data lifecycle.
Awareness of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
Ability to work as part of a wider team focussed on shared outcomes.
Resilient and comfortable working effectively in demanding situations.
Able to follow standards and designs, ensuring high-quality work with strong attention to detail.
