Télécom Paris, part of the Institut Mines-Télécom, is hiring an Assistant/Associate Professor in Coding for Images and Video on a permanent contract. You will lead research in visual signal coding and compression, while contributing to teaching programs and developing industrial and academic partnerships.
What You'll Do
- Participate in the design and implementation of teaching programs in your scientific field.
- Conduct research in your scientific field.
- Participate in the development of partnerships, collaborations, and contractual relationships.
- Bridge the gap between traditional compression pipelines and AI experts within the team.
- Actively participate in standardization consortia and continuing education in traditional and latest architectures.
What We're Looking For
- A PhD in a relevant field.
- Fluent proficiency in English.
Nice to Have
- Experience in coding for machines.
- Expertise in immersive coding.
- Knowledge of coding for Gaussian Splatting and 3D.
- Background in image and video treatment with deep learning.
- Ability to develop at multiple levels of abstraction.
- Expertise in open-source project management.
Team & Environment
You will be a member of the Multimedia (MM) team within the Image, Data, Signal (IDS) department.
