Saint Joseph’s University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in its Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate program. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the continued design, development, and quality of this CACREP-accredited program, emphasizing academic excellence and strong community connections.
What You'll Do
- Develop and teach online graduate courses in the CMHC program using synchronous and asynchronous formats.
- Provide academic advisement to graduate-level counseling students.
- Supervise students during their practicum and internship experiences.
- Provide leadership related to best practices in clinical experiences.
- Use technology to improve clinical experiences.
- Align clinical experiences with the School of Education and Human Development's vision for community partnerships.
- Serve on university, department, and program committees.
- Provide service to the counseling profession and the community.
- Provide continuous service to the program across the calendar year for CACREP accreditation needs.
What We're Looking For
- An earned Doctorate from a CACREP Accredited Counselor Education and Supervision Program (prior to 2015).
- Licensure as an LPC or LMHC.
- Active certification as a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
- Certification as an approved clinical supervisor (ACS).
- Evidence of a comprehensive counseling background and professional counselor identity.
- Evidence of capacity to develop and successfully teach synchronous and asynchronous core, elective, and special topics online courses using the Canvas learning management system.
- Evidence of active commitment to social justice and advocacy in counseling.
- Experience of and commitment toward supporting CACREP accreditation processes.
- Applications must show evidence of cumulative service to university, program, and community; history of scholarship, fulfillment of leadership responsibilities, and previous adjunct or full-time teaching experience in online modalities.
- Campus presence as requested by the dean or to meet programmatic requirements; some university-funded travel required for remote employees.
Nice to Have
- Prior teaching experience in counselor education programs.
- Evidence of culturally responsive and inclusive teaching methods.
- Preference will be given to those with online teaching experience.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills as evidenced by active participation on academic and/or professional counseling committees/organizations, accreditation processes.

- Salary range: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00
