Strayer University, LLC is seeking a part-time Assistant Professor to teach Managerial Economics Quantitative courses for the Jack Welch Management Institute (JWMI). In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality online education, maintaining academic standards, and actively supporting student success.
What You'll Do
- Teach assigned quantitative courses in Managerial Economics.
- Hold scheduled office hours and actively participate in weekly online discussions.
- Evaluate student coursework, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Assist with the development and refinement of the curriculum.
- Create short instructional videos to introduce new topics each week.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and ensure smooth course operation.
- Adhere to all university policies and procedures.
What We're Looking For
- A conferred Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 7-10 years of Executive or Senior Level Management/Leadership experience.
- Proven ability to coach and instruct adult learners in an online environment.
- Mastery of presentation skills and course planning.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
- Flexibility to teach any quantitative course as needed.
- Ability to travel weekly to required location(s).
- Willingness to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs require.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Nice to Have
- A Doctoral degree (or ABD status) in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Practical industry experience directly related to quantitative business courses.
- Familiarity with the Canvas learning management system.
- An understanding and appreciation of Jack Welch's management philosophy.
- Experience teaching at the graduate level, preferably online.
- Professional certification such as CPA or CMA.
- Experience with adopting new technology and tools.
- Ability to conduct occasional synchronous sessions with students.
