Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX Corporation, is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and experienced Assistant General Counsel, Military to support enterprise-wide initiatives and negotiations with primes and the U.S. government. This lawyer will directly support the Collins Customer Excellence & Strategy function and the Enterprise Contracts function as a USG legal subject matter expert, counselor, and teammate.
What You'll Do
- Represent Collins Aerospace on internal and external USG legal issues.
- Act as a strategic business partner to review, draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide variety of government agreements, including OTAs, FAR 15, and FAR 12 agreements.
- Assist with managing and resolving contract disputes, bid protests, equitable adjustments, and breach of contract claims.
- Interpret complex laws, rulings, and regulations and provide expertise on legal issues to ensure compliance.
- Aid in the development and implementation of processes, procedures, and metrics to increase the overall effectiveness of legal services.
- Apply experience with government contract formation, including detailed reviews of solicitation and evaluation documents for source selections.
- Understand and collaborate on data rights and other intellectual property issues.
- Apply deep knowledge of commercial item terms and conditions necessary for government acceptance and commerciality determinations.
- Provide guidance on cost accounting issues.
- Be willing and able to travel 20% of the time.
What We're Looking For
- Typically requires a University Degree and a minimum of 14 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 12 years of experience.
- Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited institution.
- Admission to the bar of at least 1 US state with the ability to be admitted as In-House Counsel.
- 5+ years experience with USG contracts law.
