The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) is hiring an Assistant/Associate Professor in Chemistry for a faculty position within the College of General Education, starting Fall 2026. This role focuses on delivering a high-quality general education curriculum and conducting independent research within a culture dedicated to pedagogically-sound, innovative learning experiences.
What You'll Do
- Deliver high-quality teaching in the College of General Education curriculum and foster a positive learning environment.
- Teach first-year undergraduate chemistry courses, some advanced Chemistry courses, and science electives.
- Engage in curriculum development and support students' academic progress.
- Conduct independent research.
- Commit to UDST’s mandate of excellence in applied and experiential teaching and learning pedagogies.
- Design and deliver teaching materials across a range of courses using student-centered strategies with appropriate learning supports.
- Create and evaluate authentic assessment tools that validly and reliably measure mastery of course learning outcomes.
- Develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable students to be active participants in their own education.
- Demonstrate fluency in UDST’s learning management system and model the use of current and emerging digital platforms for student learning and feedback.
- Manage the resources of the learning environment, including print and online materials.
What We're Looking For
- A doctoral degree and academic credentials suitable for an Assistant or Associate Professor level appointment.
- Proven ability to teach undergraduate chemistry courses effectively.
- Experience in curriculum development and student academic support.
- A record and plan for conducting independent research.
- Demonstrated commitment to applied, experiential, and student-centered pedagogies.
- Proficiency with learning management systems and integrating technology into education.
Nice to Have
- Preference will be given to candidates whose teaching dossier and research plan best prepare them to fulfill an interdisciplinary role in the science department.
