Zurich Canada is hiring an Area Claims Manager for its RCIS CROP division. This role, which may be based in Northwest Iowa's Decorah County, involves leading a team of technical Claims Professionals. You will be responsible for coordinating the team's work, driving performance, and developing staff within Zurich's supportive environment.
What You'll Do
- Oversee day-to-day work activities of adjusters by providing direction, technical guidance, and tracking key metrics.
- Contribute to customer satisfaction by building relationships with internal and external partners and resolving service issues.
- Monitor file allocations and resource expenditures for appropriateness and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to all legal, regulatory, and internal control requirements.
- Attract, recruit, onboard, and retain team members.
- Drive the performance management process by setting expectations, evaluating performance, and facilitating development.
- Maintain transparent communication through team meetings, one-on-ones, and regular interpersonal contact.
- Foster a workplace culture aligned with Zurich's mission, vision, and values.
- Protect Zurich's reputation by maintaining claims confidentiality.
- Keep professional knowledge current through workshops, publications, and networking.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s Degree and 4 or more years in Claims, or a High School Diploma/Equivalent and 6 or more years in Claims, or a Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice (Associate Degree) and 4 or more years in Claims.
- 3 or more years of direct claims handling experience.
- Demonstrated customer service experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims processes, and the relevant legal and regulatory environment.

- Leadership, coaching, or mentoring experience.
