Requirements
- Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field from an institution in North America.
- Registered Professional Archaeologist and SOI qualified.
- Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience, preferably ten (10) years’ experience in progressively responsible cultural resource positions including management and/or educational experience in the Gulf Coast and Southeast; including experience collaborating with architectural historians.
- Ability to meet deadlines while remaining detail-oriented, organized, and able to work well on simultaneous tasks and be team oriented.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication, professional writing, problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in project planning, development, and management.
- Ability to work independently with general supervision.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite, Survey 123, AGOL, strong people skills, excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to satisfactorily pass pre-employment and post-employment drug and alcohol tests.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Must be eligible to be employed in the US.
Nice to Have
- Considers field safety a top priority for themselves and field crews.
- Any background in the geosciences (e.g. geomorphology, pedology, stratigraphy, sedimentology, etc.) will be especially beneficial. This will allow you to also periodically participate on our new nationwide Geoarchaeology Services team.
- Thesis research on North American archaeology or closely related but not required. North American experience can be substituted.
- GPR for cemetery delineation experience.
- Artifact analysis and lab experience.
- A team player who maintains a positive attitude, especially in challenging situations.
- Takes initiative and does not require much supervision.
- Attentive to deadlines.
- Not adverse to fieldwork or travel when needed and periodically, at short notice.
