The Applied AI Engineer will build and deploy AI-powered features using large language models and generative AI systems within Social Discovery Group's social discovery platforms. This role involves close collaboration with engineering, product, and design teams to integrate AI into user-facing applications at scale, with a focus on rapid iteration and real-world impact.
What You'll Do
- Build and ship AI-powered product features using LLMs and generative models
- Develop and maintain services and APIs around ML models
- Work with prompt engineering and model behavior tuning
- Integrate AI models into production systems and user-facing applications
- Work with multimodal systems (text and image generation)
- Improve AI quality, safety, and reliability in production
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and design teams
- Run experiments and iterate quickly based on real user feedback and metrics
- Optimize performance, latency, and scalability of AI systems
What We're Looking For
- Strong Python development skills
- Experience working with LLMs or generative AI systems in production
- Experience building APIs, services, or infrastructure around ML models
- Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals
- Experience integrating AI into real products, not just experiments
- Ability to take end-to-end ownership of solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with both engineers and product teams
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with fine-tuning approaches (LoRA / SFT) is a plus
- Experience with multimodal or diffusion models is a plus
