Tufts Medicine is hiring an Applications Analyst II - Epic Inpatient Orders to design, develop, and implement IT solutions that meet critical organizational needs. You will play a key role in supporting and enhancing our applications to drive efficiency and effectiveness across our healthcare system.
What You'll Do
- Develop a detailed understanding of application functionality.
- Collaborate with end users to understand and define requirements.
- Use technical and analytical skills to determine the best approaches for tailoring systems.
- Build and configure systems to meet requirements using available application tools.
- Create documentation of custom builds.
- Develop test scenarios based on requirements and execute testing to identify issues.
- Research and resolve application issues in a timely fashion.
- Provide input to and support during application implementation events, including occasional off-hours support.
- Lead small to medium size complex projects with oversight.
- Build enhancements to current functionality using application tools.
- Participate in detailed testing of software updates and upgrades.
- Respond to and research user-reported issues.
- Provide excellent customer service: communicate professionally, empathize with users, and set appropriate expectations.
- Participate in an after-hours on-call support rotation, troubleshooting and resolving system issues.
- Collaborate with vendor support personnel to research and resolve vendor product issues.
- Participate in vendor user groups and online listservs, and review vendor updates to optimize application capabilities.
- Participate in cross-training, as both a trainer and a learner, for personal development and secondary coverage.
What We're Looking For
- A High school diploma or equivalent and eight (8) years of relevant experience.
- OR an Associate degree in information technology, finance, a clinical field, or related field and six (6) years of relevant experience.
- OR a Bachelor’s degree in information technology, finance, a clinical field, or related field and four (4) years of relevant experience.
- Excellent customer service orientation and good communication skills.
- Ability to be flexible with changing priorities, initiatives, and tasks.
- Ability to work within a team and be successful in a team environment.
- Skilled at supporting applications in a healthcare environment.
- Knowledge and ability to clearly explain findings and answer questions about the work.
- Ability to communicate complex information in a way users can understand.
- Ability to interpret data, find meaningful information, and identify patterns.
- Ability to analyze a situation and make decisions based on available information.
- Ability to make decisions about data analyzed and conclusions made.
- Ability to find the cause of issues, develop resolution strategies, improve processes, and develop new methods.

This is a professional individual contributor role that may direct the work of other lower-level professionals or manage processes and programs.

- Salary range: $84,300.22 - $107,481.20
