Hitachi Europe GmbH seeks an Application Engineer for our Air Compressor division in the EMEA region. In this hybrid role, you will drive engineering application development from initial opportunity identification through design, validation, and ongoing technical customer support, ensuring our products meet specific market needs.
What You'll Do
- Assist product management and commercial teams in identifying applications and provide technical support on sales calls.
- Work with product management to define how products will fit specific customer applications.
- Participate in technical presentations to educate and train our distribution channel and end customers.
- Complete specific customer application validation, collaborating with engineering.
- Provide technical support after the award of business.
- Offer design guidance and training when necessary.
- Drive all product application development, including feasibility studies, design work, and required deliverables.
- Support the engineering department on projects that contribute to the company's technical growth.
- Partner with product management to evaluate technologies and identify potential new products and applications.
- Assist in creating regional and customer-specific pricing, special pricing, and competitor benchmarking.
- Act as the primary link between the sales team and the factory to customize products to meet customer requirements.
- Support the budgeting process for the EMEA region.
- Maintain the distributor SharePoint site.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in applications engineering with direct customer interaction.
- Knowledge of mechanical design principles.
- Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of inspection and measuring equipment techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Project management skills with an emphasis on meeting deadlines.
Nice to Have
- Experience with compressors or other rotating equipment.
- A strong 3D CAD background and modeling experience.
