Pixaera is hiring an Animator – Realistic Motion (Unreal Engine 5)

About the Role

Pixaera is looking for an Animator – Realistic Motion with a mastery of motion-capture workflows to bring lifelike characters and experiences into Unreal Engine 5. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of craft excellence and technical execution, ensuring every movement supports the realism and emotional impact of our simulations.

What You'll Do

  • Create, integrate, and polish realistic character animations for gameplay and cinematic sequences in UE5.
  • Work with mocap data from shoot to screen—from retargeting to procedural adjustment—ensuring believable, fluid motion.
  • Use UE5's Sequencer for cutscenes, scripted sequences, and gameplay events.
  • Apply Control Rig to make procedural adjustments or keyframe edits directly inside UE5.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, tech animators, and engineers to meet performance and technical constraints.
  • Make minor rig adjustments in Maya to keep production moving smoothly.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven track record delivering realistic, mocap-driven animation.
  • Unreal Engine 5 expertise, including animation integration for gameplay/cinematics, Sequencer workflow, and Control Rig setup.
  • MotionBuilder knowledge: characterization, retargeting, and basic mocap cleanup.
  • Maya rigging familiarity for minor adjustments, with an understanding of joint hierarchies and deformation principles.
  • A keen eye for realism and the subtleties of believable human movement.
  • Comfort balancing quality and speed to meet production timelines without sacrificing core fidelity.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, translating technical requirements into animation solutions.
  • Self-starter who can spot pipeline problems and propose solutions.

Nice to Have

  • Experience handling end-to-end mocap cleanup within UE5.
  • Familiarity with simulation or training-focused animation.
