Ubisoft is looking for an Animation Team Lead to support project leadership in managing quality and deadlines for a small animation team. In this role, you will monitor team work, coach animators, validate production results, and contribute directly to game development.
What You'll Do
- Create, prioritize, assign, and track daily tasks and progress for the team based on deliverables.
- Act as a representative for your team and organize/manage team meetings.
- Understand game story, gameplay, cinematics, and master technical/artistic constraints to guide and coach the team.
- Provide periodic reports to the Project Manager on team task progress and propose corrective measures when needed.
- Anticipate and address potential conflict situations, suggesting solutions to the PM for problem resolution.
- Act as a technical and/or artistic mentor for team members when applicable.
- Participate in performance reviews in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Coordinate bug fixes related to the team's work.
- Ensure the integration of new hires into the team and participate in recruitment to grow the team.
- Produce a portion of the animation.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in video game animation.
- Relevant experience in animation and team management.
- Solid understanding of animation principles, game engines, production pipelines, and their constraints.
- Mastery of animation software, with a preference for MotionBuilder.
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with motion capture workflows.
- Knowledge of game engines/tools and game production pipelines.

You will report to a Project Manager (CP) or Production Manager (PM) and lead a small team.
