HP is seeking an experienced Android Graphics Expert to design, develop, and optimize high-performance graphics and rendering pipelines on Android devices. You will work closely with platform engineers, performance teams, and hardware vendors to deliver smooth, high-FPS, low-latency rendering experiences across HP’s device portfolio.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement real-time rendering pipelines on Android.
- Develop 2D/3D rendering systems using OpenGL ES and Vulkan.
- Implement shader programs using GLSL and SPIR-V.
- Optimize graphics performance for FPS, memory, and power.
- Work with the Android graphics stack, including SurfaceFlinger, HWComposer, Skia, and RenderThread.
- Debug rendering issues across device variants and handle frame drops, jank, and ANR caused by graphics bottlenecks.
- Profile GPU and CPU usage with tools like Android GPU Inspector, Perfetto, Systrace, and RenderDoc.
- Optimize texture handling, memory bandwidth, overdraw, and frame timing.
- Debug driver-level and HAL issues when required.
- Work with device vendors such as Qualcomm and MediaTek.
- Understand the AOSP graphics pipeline and buffer management.
- Validate rendering across multiple Android versions and handle device compatibility challenges.
- Ensure smooth behavior across various refresh rates (e.g., 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz).
