SaskPower was looking for an Analyst, Buyer

This role focuses on delivering analytical and technical support to enhance procurement and supply chain operations. You will analyze business requirements, translate them into actionable plans, and help implement solutions that align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, evaluate, and maintain business processes, documentation, and internal communications
  • Collect data, prepare reports, and manage information across multiple systems
  • Develop standards and procedures to improve functional workflows
  • Respond to user inquiries and provide guidance on departmental programs
  • Support the design and development of corporate initiatives through assessment and analysis
  • Create and manage spreadsheets, databases, forecasting models, and analytical reports
  • Build and test new applications, provide technical support, and generate queries for reporting
  • Engage in data gathering, modeling, and requirements planning for system improvements
  • Contribute to process redesign efforts to enhance business efficiency
  • Develop and maintain business cases, test strategies, and functional documentation
  • Support change management across people, processes, and technology
  • Lead requirement-gathering sessions and act as a liaison between technical and business units
  • Maintain corporate records, databases, and digital files
  • Support project teams as needed and engage in ongoing professional development

Qualifications

You must hold a degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field, along with a recognized credential in Supply Chain Management. A minimum of five years of experience in procurement or supply chain operations is required. Familiarity with business analysis methods—such as requirements collection, process modeling, and business case development—is essential. You should also have strong project management abilities, solid IT knowledge, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines. Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills are critical for success in this role.
