About the Role

Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring an AI/ML Engineer II to join a forward-thinking team shaping the future of AI and ML in healthcare. In this remote role based in India, you will design, develop, and scale machine learning models, including LLMs and Generative AI, collaborating with product, data science, and engineering teams to bring AI-powered innovations into production.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, optimize, and deploy machine learning and deep learning models, including LLMs and Generative AI systems.
  • Implement scalable AI solutions that seamlessly integrate into existing platforms and infrastructure.
  • Fine-tune AI models using large-scale datasets to meet business and performance goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of technical solutions with strategic objectives.
  • Work extensively with healthcare and claims data to build high-performance ML workflows.
  • Maintain and improve MLOps pipelines for model training, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot production-level model issues and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Document processes, methodologies, and best practices to support team knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, research breakthroughs, and AI/ML advancements.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering, delivering models into production.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and working with ML/NLP frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and NLP concepts.
  • Experience with fine-tuning and evaluating Generative AI models.
  • Familiarity with data processing, augmentation, and synthetic data generation.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to design novel AI solutions in complex scenarios.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects with minimal supervision, synthesize complex information, and drive strategic value.
