Responsibilities
- Design and implement artificial intelligence features leveraging natural language processing and large language models, as well as traditional machine learning, for healthcare provider communication via chat and voice interfaces
- Own the full lifecycle of machine learning solutions including data curation, model development and testing, performance assessment, API integration, deployment, and ongoing monitoring within cloud platforms
- Enforce ethical AI practices by integrating safeguards for content moderation, protection of sensitive health and personal information, prompt validation, and comprehensive evaluation frameworks, while coordinating with oversight teams
- Build and sustain scalable web services and application programming interfaces to deliver machine learning functionality, accompanied by detailed technical documentation and operational guides
- Apply MLOps principles such as continuous integration for models, use of model registries, and reproducible experimentation workflows, and participate in on-call rotations with guidance and support
- Partner with product management, systems architecture, data science, security, and platform engineering teams to ensure alignment with organizational standards and achieve defined business impact
- Optimize system performance by enhancing code integrity, test completeness, response speed, service dependability, and computational efficiency per inference operation
