KPN is hiring a Medior AI Engineer for its AI for Corporate team within Corporate Insights & Analytics. You will design and build Generative AI and NLP solutions to make internal HR & Finance processes smarter, faster, and AI-Native. This role acts as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, taking ownership from idea to production.
What You'll Do
- Design and build Generative AI and NLP solutions that make internal HR & Finance processes smarter, faster, and AI-Native.
- Work on concrete use-cases such as AI agents for HR/Finance, automated invoice scanning, approval workflows, and predictive models.
- Take independent ownership of features — from idea to production — with a focus on scalable, reliable, and maintainable AI services.
- Act as a bridge builder between tech and non-tech, challenge stakeholders, ask critical questions, and build strong domain connection and understanding.
- Combine AI expertise with a production mindset and software engineering quality.
What We're Looking For
- A completed master's degree in AI or Computer Science.
- 2–5 years of experience with AI/ML solutions in production environments (preferably within enterprise domains).
- Consultant mindset or demeanor: you enjoy collaborating with the business to conceive and build solutions.
- Strong software engineering foundation with experience in production-grade Python.
- Experience with Docker and container-based development.
- Cloud experience, preferably with Azure.
- Familiar with API integrations and CI/CD deployment flows.
- Accustomed to switching between tech and non-tech teams, challenging stakeholders, and building domain understanding.
- Proficiency in Dutch (spoken and written) is required.
Nice to Have
- NLP experience or experience with pipelines is a plus.

Team & Environment
You will be part of a team of six AI specialists within a department of about 40 professionals across five Scrum teams. The AI for Corporate team sits within Group Business Services, collaborating closely with Anaplan, Oracle Reporting, Managed Dashboarding, and Data teams, and KPN's AI community of 50+ AI engineers and data scientists.

- Compensation: €5,038 to €7,575 gross per month (based on 40 hours).
- Fixed 13th month, partly paid monthly and partly in January, or can be used for a FLEX & BOOST goal.
