NRG is seeking an Agile Product Owner to act as the strategic bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams. In this role, you will work with one or more Agile SCRUM teams to deliver high-quality features and user stories that support retail electric and gas customer operations. You will own the product vision and backlog, collaborating with operational owners and cross-functional partners to translate business needs into actionable specifications.
What You'll Do

- Partner with business and technology leaders to prioritize the product backlog, serving as the primary owner of prioritization decisions to ensure maximum business value.
- Independently elicit requirements from stakeholders without reliance on operations or development teams to define processes or system behavior.
- Translate business needs into clear, concise, and testable User Stories that include defined business value, detailed acceptance criteria, and explicit system process details.
- Ensure User Stories are production-ready with all necessary details before refinement sessions and meet the Definition of Ready (DoR) before progressing to Development.
- Proactively remove ambiguity from requirements by providing detailed system and process context to ensure development work remains unblocked.
- Maintain comprehensive product documentation, including User Stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and supporting artifacts.
- Act as the primary point of contact and liaison between stakeholders and the Agile development team, providing timely and detailed guidance on system functionality.
- Actively participate and/or present in Agile ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and quarterly planning events).
- Validate completed work against acceptance criteria and provide formal sign-off on deliverables with full accountability for accuracy and completeness.
- Deliver concise release notes for completed User Stories outlining delivered functionality, direct business value, and any net-new or updated process documentation.
