Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts
- Advise internal teams on legal risks associated with business initiatives
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Support procurement and vendor management processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product and service launches
- Manage relationships with external counsel when necessary
- Develop and maintain contract templates and legal playbooks
- Identify opportunities to streamline legal processes
- Assist in due diligence for partnerships and transactions
- Monitor changes in relevant legal and regulatory environments
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar
- Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, preferably in-house or at a law firm
- Proven experience handling commercial contracts and transactions
- Strong understanding of corporate governance and regulatory compliance
- Ability to interpret complex legal language for non-legal stakeholders
- Experience in transportation, education, or technology sectors is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail and organizational ability
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
