Fives Stein (Division Steel & Glass) seeks an Aftermarket Commissioning Technician to join our team. In this hands-on technical role, you will provide crucial field support for our installed equipment, ensuring project success and customer satisfaction. The position requires travel up to 80% of the time for commissioning and service assignments.
What You'll Do
- Work in the shop on equipment scheduled for installation, learning system requirements, performing runoffs, and meeting customers during pre-shipment acceptance.
- Complete equipment pre-shipment checklists to ensure quality standards are met and all performance risk mitigation steps are evaluated.
- Ensure technical issues are resolved prior to shipment and support equipment validation in the field at customer facilities.
- Support the creation and review of 8D reports, ensuring accurate root cause identification and implementation of permanent corrective actions.
- Manage and track open corrective action items, confirming they address equipment deficiencies and validating associated resources, labor hours, and completion dates.
- Assist in the preparation of warranty documentation, including the development and communication of corrective action plans.
- Work in manufacturing as a 'Machine Builder' between field service assignments when necessary.
What We're Looking For
- GED or High School Diploma.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to explain machine basic operations effectively.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers.
Nice to Have
- Machine builder or Service Technician with 7+ years of experience.
- Experience in industrial washers (5 years minimum).

Work Mode
This is an onsite position based in Farmington Hills, MI. The role involves up to 80% travel for field assignments.
