About the Role

Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis LLC is looking for an Aero Repair Engineer to lead the development and implementation of advanced manufacturing and repair processes for aeroderivative gas turbine components. In this role, you will design innovative tooling solutions and optimize operations to drive efficiency and ensure the highest quality standards.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing and repair processes for aeroderivative gas turbine components.
  • Design innovative tooling solutions to support component repair and new part manufacturing.
  • Interpret complex engineering data including blueprints, CAD models, material specifications, and process documentation.
  • Optimize machining and manufacturing operations to improve efficiency, reduce cycle time, and ensure top-tier product quality.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards, performing root-cause analysis (RCA) and ensuring compliance.
  • Create detailed work instructions to train operators and standardize repair and inspection processes.
  • Serve as the technical focal point for nonconformance reports (NCRs) and component disposition.
  • Present technical content during engineering or program reviews.
  • Ensure proper documentation aligned with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Support engineering and business partners to ensure repair limits, processes, and procedures are correctly incorporated into shop and vendor manuals.
  • Develop and industrialize new repair processes for Aero Gas Turbine components.
  • Perform design analysis and evaluation to substantiate repairability limits and operational life.
  • Provide direction for CAD models, drawings, and component specifications.
  • Support the repair process qualifications and drive standardization and industrialization efforts.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and/or a related field, OR equivalent professional experience in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, Mastercam, and other CAD/CAM tools.
  • Experience with industrial gas turbine components, especially turbine blade grinding and repair.
  • Strong inspection and quality assurance background for machined and repaired components.
  • Knowledge of machining, heat treatment, and inspection of nickel-based superalloys.
  • Competency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools such as MS Project.
  • Solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and material/process specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
