HF Sinclair Corporation is hiring an Accountant for its HEP Midstream business segment, which maintains interstate pipelines and terminals in Artesia, NM. This role conducts moderately complex revenue accounting assignments with a high degree of independence.
What You'll Do
- Prepare journal entries, maintain general ledger accounts, and reconcile sub-ledgers for the month-end close.
- Coordinate all SAP postings for HEP pipeline and terminal movements and prepare periodic shipper statements.
- Monitor HEP interface feeds into the billing system for accuracy and communicate system deficiencies to IT.
- Evaluate and remedy HEP/SAP movement errors and prepare month-end product movement reports.
- Analyze shipper gains and losses to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in invoice preparation and perform peer reviews.
- File pipeline tickets, organize information, and communicate with the control room regarding discrepancies.
- Track beginning/ending inventory, receipts, deliveries, and inventory adjustments.
- Assist accounting associates in processing various fuel or crude entries and other reports.
- Review, analyze, and develop solutions for variances within the department.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts and document business transactions.
- Reconcile various accounts and enter data into the system, ensuring integrity and compliance with accounting principles.
- Prepare the month-end close by obtaining information from reports, entering it into the system, and verifying that debits and credits balance.
- Audit journal entries, orders, transactions, and vouchers and prepare substantiating reports.
- Complete special assignments or tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Intermediate understanding of accounting practices and procedures with the ability to perform accounting analysis.
- Basic reading and writing skills.
- Ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.
- Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal.
Nice to Have
- 1 year of job experience.
- Experience in revenue accounting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products.
- Experience with accounting and maintenance software.
- SAP experience.
