The Account Executive will serve as a strategic growth advisor to DTC brands in the fashion, beauty, and home verticals, identifying conversion challenges and driving revenue through Checkmate's AI-powered marketing platform. This is a quota-carrying sales role at Checkmate Intelligence, a company backed by Google Ventures and Fuel Capital, focused on building trusted partnerships with high-growth Shopify merchants.
What You'll Do
- Build strategic partnerships with high-growth Shopify merchants ($10M–$500M GMV) in fashion, beauty, and home verticals
- Conduct deep discovery to understand growth challenges, constraints, and team priorities
- Present data-driven business cases showing projected ROAS, incremental revenue, and payback periods
- Navigate complex buying committees involving Growth, Marketing, RevOps, and Finance stakeholders
- Establish yourself as a trusted advisor—not just a vendor
- Own a quota and manage full-cycle sales from prospecting to close
- Build pipeline through outbound prospecting, agency partnerships, and ecosystem relationships
- Maintain disciplined pipeline management and forecasting in Hubspot
- Support onboarding and identify expansion opportunities based on performance data
- Contribute product feedback based on real customer needs and market gaps
- Help refine our GTM strategy as we scale into new verticals and use cases
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to improve the customer journey
- Be a founding member of our sales organization—what you build here will scale
What We're Looking For
- Experience selling to DTC brands or e-commerce companies
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota in a full-cycle sales role
- Ability to conduct strategic discovery and present data-driven business cases
- Experience navigating complex buying committees with multiple stakeholders
- Strong ability to act as a trusted advisor to growth and marketing teams
- Experience with CRM and sales tools, specifically Hubspot for pipeline management and forecasting
Nice to Have
- Background in selling SaaS, AI, or marketing technology solutions
- Familiarity with Shopify ecosystem and DTC growth metrics
- Experience working with brands in fashion, beauty, or home verticals
- Prior experience in a startup or high-growth environment
