Salm Partners, now part of Johnsonville, is seeking a 3rd Shift Supervisor to join our team. This Production Supervisor reports directly to shift managers and acts as a supervisor for assigned team(s), directing and coordinating all production and sanitation activities to ensure shift compliance with all safety, food safety, quality, GMP, SQF, and USDA regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do
- Manage all production activities and shift personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Conduct daily meetings at the start of each shift to disseminate performance metrics and production information.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all Salm Partners and USDA sanitation and food safety requirements.
- Serve as an active member of the Safety Committee.
- Manage production team daily, including staffing, scheduling, absenteeism, time cards, and time off requests.
- Maintain production records and report shift results daily.
- Collaborate with support teams and other departments to optimize production and engagement.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities including training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, and resolving problems.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED.
- Exemplary communication skills and enjoy teaching and developing people.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities in a deadline-intensive environment.
- Strong leadership skills and proven work ethic and integrity.
- Highly effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and performance reviews.
- Ability to speak effectively before small groups.
- Basic computer proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, calculate proportions, percentages, area, and interpret data charts.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and interpret technical instructions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Business, Supervisory Management, or related field.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience.
- Previous work experience in a USDA-regulated food manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience with Sage financial software or related integrated ERP manufacturing software systems.
- Previous experience applying Root Cause Problem Solving methods.
