Border States is looking for a Warehouse Associate to support the daily functions of our warehouse in Odessa, TX. As a 100% employee-owned company, we empower our team to make decisions, find solutions, and receive rewards for their contributions.
What You'll Do
- Receive incoming freight and check material for damages or shortages.
- Distribute material to proper stock locations and fill orders for customer delivery.
- Check and pack material for delivery, with a full understanding of truck routes.
- Coordinate deliveries using our own trucks, assigned freight companies, or other carriers.
- Maintain shipping equipment and keep the work area clean and safe.
- Manage assigned inventory stock locations, ensuring correct locators and neat shelves.
- Accurately label and inventory all batched managed material.
- Maintain delivery vehicles in clean, working condition and monitor maintenance data.
- Keep daily driver logs and vehicle inspection sheets.
- Operate all equipment safely and adhere to all traffic and safety regulations.
- Inform appropriate departments of stock outs, inventory discrepancies, and other issues.
- Assist the City Desk and Will Call areas with customer service functions as needed.
- Provide delivery of material to customer sites and assist with loading/unloading trucks.
- Notify your supervisor of any building or equipment maintenance, repair needs, or security concerns.

- Excellent interpersonal communication, including reading, writing, and speaking in English.
- Ability to effectively plan and organize your work.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to perform all job aspects as accurately, efficiently, and safely as possible.
Nice to Have
- Two years of relevant work experience.
- Prior warehouse distribution experience, including forklift operation.
- Knowledge of electrical products and systems.
- PC working knowledge for Windows, internet, email, and SAP software.
