Workyard is hiring a Video Editor to own post-production across our YouTube channel and social video content. In this fully remote, hands-on execution role, you'll transform scripts, raw footage, and assets into polished, finished videos as a key member of the content team.
What You'll Do
- Edit videos, ensuring pace with script and production pipeline.
- Work from briefs, scripts, and storyboards provided by the Digital Community and Content Specialist.
- Handle all standard post-production tasks: rough cut, fine cut, color grading, audio mixing, music and sound design, lower thirds, captions, and final export.
- Export videos in the correct format and specs for each platform, including YouTube long-form and YouTube Shorts.
- Animate static visual assets provided by a graphic designer.
- Apply motion graphics to support the narrative, including animated text overlays, transitions, lower thirds, kinetic typography, and branded graphic elements.
- Cut short-form versions of long-form videos or standalone short-form content for platforms like YouTube Shorts.
- Apply short-form editing conventions like quick pacing, on-screen text, captions, and effective sound design.
- Review scripts and storyboards before production begins to flag potential post-production problems.
- Coordinate with the videographer at handoff to ensure all raw footage and assets are received cleanly and organized.
- Check in with the Digital Community and Content Specialist and Head of Content at key review points.
- Own the editorial call on whether a cut is ready for final delivery.
- Flag issues with footage quality, missing assets, or unclear brief elements early in the process.
- Maintain an organized file system across all projects with consistent naming conventions.
What We're Looking For
- 2 to 4 years of professional video editing experience with a portfolio.
- Specific experience editing YouTube content, including long-form videos.
- Understanding of YouTube audience behavior, retention, and format norms.
- Hands-on experience with motion graphics and animation, including animating assets provided by a designer.
- Proficiency in at least one primary editing platform: Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects or an equivalent motion graphics tool.
- Based in the Philippines with full working rights.
