Vention is hiring a Firmware Engineering Manager to lead a team of firmware and embedded software developers implementing Edge and Cloud based systems for our manufacturing automation ecosystem. You will master technical aspects of firmware and automation, guide critical technical decisions, and organize the team's work to bring projects to completion.
What You'll Do
- Manage a team of 5 firmware and embedded software developers, supporting their technical and interpersonal growth.
- Guide technical decisions and architect the code stack for various Edge deployment environments, ensuring software performance.
- Participate in testing and quality assurance of physical manufacturing hardware solutions.
- Interact with robot arm manufacturers and motor suppliers like Fanuc, UR, and Doosan.
- Organize team work, including quarterly planning, sprint planning, estimations, tracking, and reviews.
- Own a core piece of the product line.
What We're Looking For
- Proficiency in programming languages: C++, Python, and Bash.
- Strong leadership skills and ownership over full, end-to-end solutions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and embrace new challenges.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, REST, gRPC, WebSockets, and MQTT.
- Understanding of distributed system design and related technical challenges.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of ROS, robot programming, and motion planning.
- Experience with at least one proprietary robot platform (e.g., URSim, ROBOGUIDE, DART) and hardware deployment.
