About the Role

Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a UX Researcher to help deliver intuitive, engaging, and valuable user experiences across our digital products. This role is central to uncovering user needs, translating insights into actionable recommendations, and partnering with product managers, designers, and engineers to shape both research practices and product strategy.

What You'll Do

  • Plan, conduct, and synthesize qualitative and quantitative user research across discovery, concept validation, and usability testing phases.
  • Translate user insights into actionable recommendations through journey maps, user stories, storyboards, and visual storytelling.
  • Facilitate workshops and collaborative sessions to help cross-functional teams integrate research findings into product and design strategies.
  • Define metrics and pair qualitative insights with quantitative data to inform design decisions.
  • Support vendor-led research projects and contribute to live observations, in-the-moment questioning, and research execution.
  • Continuously improve research processes, tools, and best practices to strengthen insights capabilities and operational effectiveness.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, Psychology, Sociology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 2–3 years of applied research experience, integrating insights into product and design practices.
  • Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods and their appropriate application.
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and usability practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills for presenting findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Naturally curious with strong attention to detail, balancing idealism with practical solutions in fast-paced environments.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with tools such as Figma, Usertesting.com, and survey platforms is highly preferred.

  • Compensation: $90,000–$120,000
