Anduril Industries is seeking a UAV Operator to serve as the critical bridge between product engineering and deployed field operations for autonomy enabled UAVs. You will practice extreme ownership of dependencies to ensure mission success in austere, remote environments and help transform U.S. and allied military capabilities by bringing advanced technology to the field in months.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the primary bridge between product engineering and deployed operations for autonomy enabled UAVs.
- Practice extreme ownership of all dependencies to ensure mission success in austere, remote environments.
- Embed within an air vehicle development program to shape and deploy solutions of maximum effectiveness and reliability.
- Stand up forward-deployed operations in austere environments.
- Ensure the successful combat employment of Anduril products.
- Shape the long-term sustainment of products.
- Support the development of vehicle autonomy by supporting test events and customer demonstrations.
What We're Looking For
- Extensive hands-on technical experience in field operations, manufacturing, or test.
- Prior military or defense contractor experience as a manned/unmanned pilot/operator, Network technician, or Crew Chief/maintainer.
- A demonstrated understanding of flight operations, aircraft systems, and sensors.
- Ability to solve problems in unstructured situations at the interface of hardware, software, and operations.
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams and external customers.
- Experience performing data-driven root cause analysis on complex systems using logs.
- Intermediate to advanced understanding in some or all of: Computers (terminal environment, server management, programming languages), IP Networking (Network Administration/Design, troubleshooting), Radios (MANET, SATCOM, Backhaul systems).
- Ability to train peers or customers on product operation.
- Prior, operationally relevant, deployment experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 80% including occasional deployments for up to two months.
- Able to work extended hours as required.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
- Able to meet health and medical requirements for deployments per DFARS 252.225-7040, DoDI 3020.41, and other applicable requirements.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- Hands-on professional experience working with developmental weapon or missile systems on manned/unmanned aircraft.
- Experience with one or more of: Autonomy (Behavior Trees, CV models, multi-vehicle operation), Ground-based air defense systems (sensors or effectors), Operations and maintenance of air breathing propulsion systems, Aircraft or launch vehicle flight line operations, Munitions storage and handling controls.
