Capital One is hiring a Threat Assessment Manager to join our Global Workplace Services (GWS) Technology & Security Operations. In this role, you will lead the assessment and management of workplace violence concerns, direct and indirect threats against associates, assets, and the business. You will handle a spectrum of incidents, from harassing communications to social media threats, while providing direct crisis support.
What You'll Do
- Maintain the confidentiality of customer, associate, and business data at all times.
- Provide direct support to associates experiencing crisis such as suicidality and Intimate Partner Violence (IPV).
- Stay current on the latest tools to accurately monitor and assess threats.
- Effectively share information with appropriate management in a time-sensitive manner.
- Maintain proper case management processes and documentation on all threatening incidents.
- Successfully complete ongoing training and certifications in threat assessment and workplace violence subjects.
- Conduct research and interviews in accordance with all state, federal, and local laws.
- Conduct threat assessments and investigations.
- Use a variety of open source and social media networking sources and platforms to perform threat assessments.
- Collaborate with Legal, Associate Relations, Human Resources, and other partners on workplace violence issues.
- Prepare internal and external documentation on persons of interest or concern.
- Determine and recommend appropriate mitigation methods consistent with industry best practices.
- Liaise with law enforcement on criminal incidents.
- Participate as an active member in professional security organizations.
- Consult with stakeholders regarding employee and contractor terminations that may require security assistance.
- Develop and deliver training in subjects such as Workplace Violence Prevention and Response.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or military experience.
- At least 4 years of private sector corporate security, law enforcement, military experience, or any combination.
- At least 4 years in Behavioral Threat Assessments.
- At least 4 years of experience working directly with individuals in crisis.
Nice to Have
- Master's Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Psychology, or a relevant area of study.
- At least 7 years of private sector corporate security or Law Enforcement experience.
- At least 7 years in Behavioral Threat Assessments.
- Professional certification as a Certified Threat Manager (CTM) through the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals.

You'll be part of the GWS Threat Management Team (TMT) within Global Workplace Services (GWS) Technology & Security Operations.
Benefits & Compensation
- Performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).

- Compensation for McLean, VA: $126,700 - $144,600; Compensation for Remote (Regardless of Location): $115,200 - $131,500.
