Tether Operations Limited is hiring a Senior Fullstack Engineer to work on our local AI stack, QVAC, designed to bring fast and private AI directly to user devices. You will work across the JavaScript and TypeScript layer, building either user-facing applications or the platform that bridges our C++ inference engines with the app ecosystem.
What You'll Do
- Own React (Expo/Electron) app development with a clean, modular architecture.
- Build UI using a modern React stack including TypeScript, RN Navigation, and state management libraries.
- Implement local-first and local-only applications.
- Integrate mobile apps with distributed systems, local inference, and peer-to-peer layers.
- Write reliable code with unit tests and E2E tests using frameworks like Maestro or Playwright.
- Build native modules for iOS or Android when necessary, with support.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in Fullstack development.
- Expert-level proficiency in Node.js/JavaScript for backend and the React frontend framework.
- Experience with performant data handling on constrained devices, such as via SQLite.
- Proven experience building and scaling distributed systems or event-driven architectures.
- Experience with Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with databases and a deep understanding of data modeling and optimization.
- Solid understanding of networking, security principles, and production system best practices.
- Experience with real-time data streaming and RPC implementations.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and communicate effectively across time zones.
- Strong experience with REST/WebSockets, async flows, and secure data storage.
- Good understanding of offline-first systems, caching, and performance optimization.
- Comfortable integrating various SDKs for payments, crypto, AI models, and more.
- Experience with TypeScript across the full stack.
Nice to Have
- Experience with peer-to-peer technologies like Hyperswarm, libp2p, or WebRTC.
- Familiarity with AI/ML inference APIs and OpenAI-compatible endpoints.
- Previous experience building AI SaaS or PaaS platforms.
- Knowledge of GPU resource management and ML framework infrastructure.
- Understanding of WebAssembly or edge computing paradigms.
- Contributions to open-source projects in relevant domains.
- Bonus: experience with distributed/P2P APIs, on-device ML, or cryptography.
