Sopra Steria is seeking a Test Automation Principal Quality Engineer to join a team building a next-generation, cloud-native core banking and payments SaaS platform. You will spearhead the comprehensive test automation strategy and champion quality standards within an Agile, DevOps-focused environment.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement a comprehensive test automation strategy covering unit, component, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Drive full-stack test coverage, proactively identifying gaps in UI, API, and caching layers.
- Architect and implement robust test automation frameworks for UI, API, and performance testing.
- Select and integrate automation tools and libraries fitting the Java/Kotlin/Spring Boot and Angular tech stack.
- Integrate automated tests into GitLab CI/CD pipelines as quality gates and lead the evolution of continuous testing.
- Oversee test environment provisioning and test data management using AWS and Terraform.
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to instill an automation-first mindset and act as a quality evangelist.
- Ensure test processes account for strict regulatory constraints and security requirements of the banking domain.
- Define and track quality KPIs like test coverage and defect leakage to continually improve test strategies.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 12 to 25+ years in software testing and QA.
- Proven experience in a test automation architect or lead role for complex software products.
- Proven experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks for web apps and APIs.
- Deep programming skills in Java or other JVM languages.
- In-depth knowledge of UI automation tools (e.g., Cypress, Selenium), API testing tools (e.g., K6, RestAssured), and performance testing tools.
- Solid experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI).
- Experience working in cloud environments (AWS) and using Terraform or other IaC tools.
- An automation-first mindset and strong soft skills as a quality evangelist.
