Maersk is hiring a Terminal Planner to play a key role in our integrated operations. You will use your planning expertise and the Terminal Operating System to orchestrate vessel and yard activities, ensuring safe, efficient achievement of our capacity and productivity goals.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the entire cargo control process, ensuring timely and accurate submission of vessel-related EDIs and load-lists.
- Coordinate with shipping lines and stakeholders to resolve discrepancies, including changes after cut-off times.
- Collaborate with the Liner Operations Cluster and Global Stowage Planners for efficient, safe vessel planning, addressing disturbances promptly.
- Manage vessel operations by preparing load/discharge sequences, updating quay-operation systems, and ensuring prompt post-operation reporting.
- Share all loading documents and crane sequences prior to vessel arrival and ensure paperwork is delivered on time.
- Maintain vessel stability and safety compliance, while seeking process improvements and enhancing system proficiency.
- Support overall operations goals through active participation in the Integrated Operations Centre.
- Implement and maintain yard strategy via accurate container decking and Terminal Operating System (TOS) settings.
- Provide contingency plans during exceptions to minimize unproductive moves and maintain operational continuity.
- Ensure yard inventory accuracy between TOS and ARMG systems and monitor yard integrity and density.
- Collaborate with planning teams to optimize yard performance, equipment utilization, and strategic allocations.
- Nominate empty equipment for shipment and report regularly on yard operations metrics.
- Contribute to operational excellence through continuous skill development and cross-functional teamwork.
What We're Looking For
- A Master's or Engineering degree in a relevant field (e.g., IT, Mechanical, Automation, Civil, Industrial, Statistics, Business Administration).
- At least one year of experience in a similar field.
- High level of planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain a high quality of work under pressure.
- Advanced computer skills.
- High integrity and ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Proven ability to be a team player who can also work independently, maintaining good relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Good analytical skills to provide solutions to issues in a relatively short timeframe.
- Advanced level of verbal and written communication skills in English.
