About the Role

Overview: As a Float Teller, you'll be the banking world's mobile maestro, specializing in creating stellar customer experiences across digital and in-person interactions. You'll zip between branches, managing transactions, solving problems, and keeping our financial ecosystem running smoothly. Primary Responsibilities: • Deliver top-tier customer service by truly understanding and addressing customer needs in their most critical moments • Provide digital coaching through shoulder-to-shoulder demonstrations, helping customers discover self-service options that work for them • Actively manage branch lobbies - greet customers, proactively identify their needs, and take full ownership of resolving them • Process customer transactions with laser-focused accuracy, always following Bank Policy to the letter • Own escalated account issues from start to finish, meticulously logging all customer interactions and complaints • Seamlessly hand off potential sales opportunities to the right banking partner • Complete essential branch operations like cash ordering, vault management, ATM oversight, and wire transfers • Handle customer account maintenance with precision • Execute Consumer AML/BSA/KYC activities professionally • Uphold compliance and operational risk controls • Represent the M&T Bank brand by fostering an inclusive environment • Maintain internal control standards and promptly address audit recommendations • Tackle any additional assigned duties with enthusiasm Scope of Responsibilities: This role demands exceptional service, resolving customer issues efficiently. You'll need to embody empathy, customer focus, adaptability, digital fluency, entrepreneurial spirit, and critical thinking. You'll collaborate across bank departments to resolve operational challenges, staying current on changes and making smart risk management decisions to prevent losses and reduce fraud. Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities: Not Applicable Education and Experience Required: • High school diploma/GED • Minimum 6 months customer service experience (including data entry/cash handling) • Ability to travel between branches • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills • Exceptional customer service track record • Well-organized with excellent time management and prioritization skills • Proficient with internet-level technology Education and Experience Preferred: • Bilingual capabilities based on branch needs Physical Requirements: • Ability to stand for extended periods • Prolonged hand/finger use • Lift objects 5-30 lbs • Read fine print • Comfortable in face-to-face customer interactions M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.76 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
