Adventist Health, a faith-based, nonprofit, integrated health system living God’s love by inspiring health, wholeness and hope, is looking for a Telephone Operator. In this onsite role at our St. Helena, Napa Valley location, you will be the critical first point of contact, operating our communication systems to connect patients, staff, and visitors with the information and assistance they need.
What You'll Do
- Answer incoming telephone calls with excellent customer service and professional etiquette, providing information and connecting calls accurately.
- Evaluate, direct, and monitor all calls efficiently, responding with patience and a positive attitude.
- Provide answering service coverage for identified departments according to established procedures.
- Operate the paging system and act as a dispatcher for security when their office is closed.
- Handle emergency calls and monitor all alarm panels, telephones, two-way radios, and fax machines.
- Document malfunctions or alarm activations and notify designated personnel as required.
- Verify and update on-call lists and assist with admitting patients, ensuring information is current.
- Sort and distribute mail, and orient or mentor other personnel on departmental duties as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- High School Education/GED or equivalent.
- Customer service call center experience.
Nice to Have
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
