CACI is looking for a Technical Writing/Editing Manager. This is a working-level manager position where you will lead a team of writers while personally contributing to the documentation lifecycle. You will be responsible for drafting, incorporating, editing, reviewing, and publishing approved Satellite Control Network (SCN) Technical Order (TO) changes to support operations and maintenance personnel. You will coordinate with various stakeholders within DoD contract and MIL-STD guidelines to efficiently develop and maintain technical documentation and contractual deliverables.
What You'll Do
- Supervise and manage a team of technical writers.
- Communicate and coordinate internally and with external stakeholders.
- Explain and train others on facts, policies, and practices related to Technical Orders.
- Manage tasks ranging in complexity, including tracking, training, and delivering all TO-related work per the DSLM Performance Work Statement.
- Make independent, analysis-driven decisions that impact the TO team.
- Manage and update all formal TO Internal Procedures.
- Conduct and brief external meetings with customers and logistics (TPSSR, SSIPT), and lead internal TO team meetings.
- Conduct cross-department documentation and TO manager reviews.
- Manage TO-related Integrated Master Schedule tasks, Estimated to Complete inputs, and TO team staffing projections.
- Review and sign off on TO-related Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables and TO data in Engineering Change Proposals.
- Work to achieve operational objectives that lead the overall impact and achievement of results for the entire technical order department.
- Work to grow each TO team member while meeting business objectives, including training, hiring decisions, promotions, disciplinary actions, pay raises, work assignments, and managing leave and timecards.
- Structure the team to mitigate single points of failure and ensure TO work is visible and accessible.
- Make minor to major changes in systems and processes to solve problems.
- Identify, define, and address problems of moderate to difficult complexity that are not immediately evident.

- Experience with Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML), Arbortext editor, XPP, and S1000D.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Tools like TeamCenter.
- Experience with Enhanced Technical Management System (ETIMS) and Air Force Technical Order (AFTO) systems.
