HiddenLayer is looking for a Technical Writer Intern to create documentation that helps a technical audience understand and achieve their security goals with our products. You will gain exposure to the security industry by updating product guides, reference material, and release notes, learning to understand customer needs through collaboration.
What You'll Do
- Assist with updating existing documentation based on input from product stakeholders.
- Use the Jira ticketing system to track progress and capture changes.
- Assist with updating product release notes based on input from product management.
- Review and edit work from other writers and contributors.
- Translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly documentation.
What We're Looking For
- Currently working on a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, English, Technical Writing, or a related field (3rd or 4th year).
- Ability to write clear instructions and review content for spelling and grammar errors.
- Strong attention to detail, research, and analysis skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Willingness to ask questions to understand the product or project.
- Curiosity and a strong desire to learn.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Enrolled in an academic program that is physically located in the United States.
- Have at least two writing samples or projects demonstrating past experience.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with markdown files.
- Familiarity with GitHub.
- Familiarity with DITA.
