Solenis is looking for a Technical Project Engineer – Industrial Water Treatment to join our European Equipment Sales Team strategy in Southern Europe, focusing on Northern Italy. You will be responsible for managing the complete project lifecycle, from initial concept through to commissioning, for industrial water treatment systems.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with the engineering team from project inception to define scope, identify technical risks, and develop competitive technical solutions.
- Supervise site surveys, conceptual designs, and basic design phases to optimize technical and economic solutions balancing OPEX and CAPEX.
- Evaluate project specifications, verify compliance with purchase order requirements, and establish execution schedules and staffing.
- Define technical specifications and procedures for each project phase, assisting the purchasing department with sub-supplier orders.
- Conduct ongoing inspections to ensure conformance to design specifications and liaise with internal and external teams.
- Assist with troubleshooting and diagnostics for existing OEM contracts, managing internal and external resources.
- Foster strong relationships with subcontractors aligned with Solenis' values and goals.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of operational and maintenance contracts to enhance the Solutions Provider Strategy.
- Supervise equipment installation, coordinate with local workers, lead start-ups, and ensure successful commissioning.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Technical Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field).
- Proven experience in water process selection, industrial water treatment systems design, and chemical injection packages.
- Solid understanding of mechanical, piping, electrical systems, and materials compatibility with common chemicals.
- Familiarity with control and monitoring instrumentation, with emphasis on digital systems for project implementation.
- Knowledge of international standards and regulations for equipment construction and certification.
- Fluent in Italian and English.
- Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time, primarily within Italy.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have
- 1-2 years of experience in electrical and automation capabilities.
- Mechanical Engineers with 2-4 years of experience in water treatment.
