KNDS Deutschland is looking for a Technical Editor to create technical documentation for military land systems. You will join a collegial environment that combines innovation with long-term experience, focusing on interactive technical documentation (IETD) based on ASD S1000D standards and company manuals for special projects.
What You'll Do
- Create technical documentation such as operating instructions, test, maintenance, and repair documentation for national and international customers.
- Create structured data modules for interactive technical documentation (IETD) based on ASD S1000D standards (Version 1.9 to 5.0) in an editorial system.
- Create company manuals for special projects such as training facilities, simulators, or special tools according to CE directives.
- Create and integrate texts, images, and graphics into the respective documentation formats.
- Use digital cameras and edit image material for use in technical documentation.
- Read and understand technical drawings and manufacturing documents as the basis for documentation work.
- Coordinate regularly with adjacent specialist departments such as ILS management, design, and production.
- Communicate with clients and subcontractors and participate in technical meetings and reviews.
What We're Looking For
- Engineering degree or comparable qualification.
- Strong technical understanding.
- Good English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Basic IT knowledge.
Nice to Have
- Experience in image editing, for example with programs like ISODRAW, Corel, or Photoshop.
- Experience with DTP programs like Framemaker and SGML/XML editors like Arbortext Editor.
- Experience in the military and defense technology sector.
