The Systems Engineer will own the reliability and performance of Linq's messaging infrastructure across all supported protocols, ensuring high deliverability and system resilience. This role involves deep technical work on messaging systems, proactive monitoring, and close collaboration with engineering teams to solve complex infrastructure challenges.
What You'll Do
- Work directly on systems that keep messaging infrastructure running and take ownership of improving them
- Own the reliability and performance of messaging infrastructure across every protocol supported
- Become an expert in messaging protocols (iMessage, RCS, SMS) and understand their behavior at scale
- Build and run load tests to understand rate limits by protocol and engineer around them
- Design fallback systems to ensure messages are always delivered
- Monitor and proactively address infrastructure issues such as expired certificates, degraded performance, and protocol changes
- Work closely with the engineering team to improve deliverability across the platform

- Can hold the full context of a complex system in your head and reason about edge cases
Nice to Have
- Experience with messaging protocols (SMS/MMS gateways, RCS, iMessage/APNs) or telecom infrastructure
- Background in load testing, capacity planning, or site reliability
- Familiarity with AWS, Docker, monitoring/alerting tools (Grafana, Datadog, PagerDuty, etc.)
- Experience at a startup or high-growth company
