About the Role

MIT Lincoln Laboratory is hiring a Systems Analyst for its Bioanalytics Systems & Technologies Group. In this role, you will drive analytic and AI/ML solutions for national security by providing critical recommendations on technology capabilities, requirements, and architectures. You'll work on developing advanced technologies and algorithms to meet U.S. government needs.

What You'll Do

  • Provide recommendations regarding technology capabilities, requirements, architectures, and pipelines to meet U.S. government needs.
  • Conduct technology verification and validation, which may involve testing software and systems with users in realistic settings.
  • Help drive innovation by staying abreast of current technologies, investigating pros and cons of solutions, and prototyping.
  • Serve as a principal investigator for projects, lead teams, define research plans, and provide technical and management oversight.

What We're Looking For

  • Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Statistics, Physics, or a related scientific field, or equivalent experience in technical analysis.
  • In lieu of a Ph.D., a master’s degree with 7+ years of directly related experience will be considered.
  • Experience applying artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to answer either research questions or practical technical problems.
  • Ability to frame the 'big picture' motivations and constraints around an issue, while knowing when and how to dig into underlying details.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and lead small to medium teams of diverse backgrounds and skillsets.
  • Demonstrated skills in scientific writing and clear presentation of technical materials to varied audiences.
  • This position is onsite only.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice to Have

  • Additional experience beyond the Ph.D. is a plus.
  • Experience with biological data and developing solutions in AWS, data lakes, or data warehouses a plus.
  • Familiarity with data technologies in areas of data integration, data curation, and harmonization a plus.
